Viewing and editing plans
The Plans section of the Recurring tool allows you to see an overview of all your recurring payment plans and make changes to their settings.
To view and edit plans:
Go to All Tools > Recurring > Plans.
Click on a plan to see its overview and upcoming billing information.
To edit the plan name or description, click the pencil icon next to the information you want to change.
To see more actions, click the three dots to the right of the plan name.
Here, you can either Edit, Delete, or Deactivate a plan.
Click to expand an action below to see what it does.
Edit a plan
Selecting Edit plan brings you to the Edit Plan page, where you can adjust the following:
The plan name and description
The trial period for the plan
The pricing of the plan, including set-up fees
The default terminal for the plan
The tax settings for the plan
Notification emails sent for payments made
After changes have been made, make sure to hit Save.
Delete a plan
Selecting Delete plan permanently deletes the plan, along with:
All associated subscriptions
All associated payment links
This action can’t be undone, so make sure this is what you want!
Deactivate a plan
Selecting Deactivate plan prevents new subscriptions from being added to the plan. All active subscriptions will still continue to bill.
Viewing and managing subscriptions
The Subscriptions section provides tools for managing individual subscribers to your plans.
To view and manage subscriptions:
Go to All Tools > Recurring > Subscriptions.
Use the filters at the top of the screen to sort subscribers by plan or status (e.g., active, canceled).
Click on a subscriber to see their overview and billing history.
To set a custom price for a subscriber, click the pencil icon next to the amount.
To manage a specific subscription, click the three dots in the top right corner for actions like edit, delete, cancel, or pause.
Click to expand an action below to see what it does.
Edit a subscription
Selecting Edit subscription allows you to change:
The plan the customer is subscribed to
The amount the customer is charged for the subscription
The add-ons on the subscription
The payment method for the subscription (credit card or ACH payment)
After changes have been made, make sure to hit Save.
Delete a subscription
Selecting Delete subscription removes the subscriber from the plan. This is immediate and permanent. The customer who was subscribed will still remain in your saved customers.
Cancel a subscription
Selecting Cancel subscription stops the customer’s subscription at the end of the current billing cycle. Use this if the subscriber still wants the product or service until the end of their cycle.
Pause a subscription
Selecting Pause subscription puts a temporary pause on payments and your delivery of the product or service. Use this if the customer wants to resume the subscription at some point in the future.
Customers may cancel their subscription, but only merchants can pause a customer’s subscription. |

FAQ
Can I change the price of a plan after customers have subscribed to it?
Yes, you can change the base price of the plan, and you can choose to apply it to new subscribers only, or for all subscriptions (including current subscribers).
What's the difference between pausing and canceling a subscription?
Pausing a subscription temporarily suspends it. The subscription can be resumed later. Canceling a subscription ends it permanently.
Can I reactivate a canceled subscription?
No, once a subscription is canceled, it cannot be reactivated. You would need to create a new subscription for the customer.
How do I issue a refund for a recurring payment?
Refunds for recurring payments are typically processed through the general transaction management tools in your Helcim account, not directly within the Recurring tool.

Can I change the billing date for an active subscription?
Unfortunately, you can't directly change the billing date for subscriptions that are already active. If you need a different billing date, you'll have to create a new plan with the desired billing date.
