Adjusting Screen Brightness

Follow these steps to adjust the brightness of the screen on your 1st Generation Card Reader.

Ensure the card reader has been rebooted and disconnected from the Helcim Payments App. The screen on the card reader should say This Lane Closed.

If you need to reboot the card reader you can do so by holding down the # key and the Yellow Key.

  1. When the card reader screen says This Lane Closed you're ready to start
  2. Press 2 6 3 4
  3. Press the F key
  4. Use the F3 key to scroll down to Control Panel
  5. Press the Green Key to select Control Panel
  6. Use the F3 key to scroll down to Terminal Settings
  7. Press the Green Key to select Control Panel
  8. Use the F3 key to scroll down to ECO Mode
  9. Press the Green Key to select ECO Mode
  10. Press the Green Key to select Backlight
  11. Use the F3 key to scroll down to Normal Level
  12. Press the Green Key to select Normal Level
  13. Use the F4 key to increase the brightness and the F1 key to decrease the brightness

To prevent the card reader from fading the screen:

  • Go to Low Level
  • Press F4 until it shows 100%
