    Processing a Refund or a Void


    Article Summary

    If you need to process a refund or a void for a payment you have processed using the Helcim Payments app or the Helcim Card Reader, you will follow the same process you would use in your Helcim account. 

    On a Tablet or Workstation

    Follow these steps if you're using the Helcim Payments app on a tablet or workstation.

    You can access the list of your transactions in two different ways, you can click on My Transactions from the home screen or by clicking on Transactions from the bottom menu.

    On a Mobile Device

    If you're using the Helcim Payments app on a smartphone, simply follow these three steps from within the app.

    From the home screen in the app, click on My Transactions or by clicking on Transactions from the bottom menu.

    Next, pick the transaction that you want to void or refund and click on it to open the transaction details.

    transaction information approvedNow, click on the three dots near the top of your screen to open the Actions menu and select either Reverse or Void. If your batch has not been settled yet, you will be able to void the transaction. If the batch has settled then you will see the option to refund the transaction.

    For a refund, you can choose whether to complete a partial refund or a full refund by typing in the dollar amount in theRefund Amount field and clicking Refund
    . For a void, you will need to reverse the full amount of the transaction.

    Debit Card Refunds
    You can only refund debit transactions made in person, if the cardholder is present. You will need to use the Helcim Card Reader to process these refunds. Selecting refund from the transaction action menu will prompt the Card Reader. The cardholder will then need to enter their card.
