Standard deposit timelines at Helcim
The time it takes for funds to arrive in your bank account depends on the type of payment you processed and where your business is located.
Credit card transactions: Generally, these arrive in your linked bank account within 1–2 business days after your batch is settled.
ACH & EFT transactions: Bank-to-bank transfers (ACH in the US or EFT/PAD in Canada) take a bit longer, typically arriving within 3–4 business days after settlement.
Faster Deposits in the US and Canada
You shouldn't have to pay a premium to access your own money. Faster Deposits is our way of speeding up your cash flow by delivering funds the very next business day—at no extra cost.
How it works in Canada
In Canada, we use the Interac network to move your money faster than traditional banking systems.
Eligibility: This feature is currently rolling out to merchants who bank with major Canadian financial institutions.
Requirement: To use Faster Deposits, your bank account must support Interac e-Transfer deposits.
Cut-off: You must close your batch by 7:00 PM MT to receive your funds the next business day.
Limits: Batches up to $25,000 qualify for Faster Deposits. Batches exceeding this amount will be funded within the standard 1–2 day timelines.
Supported banks in Canada
The following banks will support Faster Deposits with Helcim as of February 19, 2026:
BMO
RBC
TD
Scotiabank
CIBC
ATB Financial
How it works in the US
In the US, we utilize the RTP and FedNow networks to accelerate your deposits.
Eligibility: Your bank must participate in the RTP or FedNow networks.
Cut-off: You must close your batch by 7:00 PM MT to qualify for next-business-day funding.
Factors that affect your funding speed
While we strive for speed, a few things can occasionally extend the wait time:
Your first few batches: To keep our platform secure, we take a little extra time (usually about 3 business days for cards) to review your first few batches as a new Helcim merchant.
Weekends and holidays: Banks don't typically process deposits on Saturdays, Sundays, or statutory holidays. If you settle a batch on a Friday evening, the "business day" countdown begins on Monday.
Underwriting reviews: Occasionally, our team may need more information to process a specific batch. Responding quickly to these requests helps prevent further delays.
How to get your funds even faster
If you want to ensure the quickest possible access to your revenue, follow these two tips:
Check your bank’s compatibility: If you are in Canada and aren't seeing next-day deposits, contact your bank to ensure Interac e-Transfer is enabled for your account. US merchants can check if their bank is on the RTP or FedNow participant lists.
Settle batches early: Ensure you close your daily batch before the 7:00 PM MT cut-off. You can change your auto-settlement time using the steps here.
| Settling early may result in multiple daily batches if you continue to process sales later in the evening, which can make your daily reconciliation slightly more complex. |
Conclusions
Let's recap the journey of your funds:
Standard card deposits take 1–2 business days.
Faster Deposits offers next-business-day funding for free to eligible merchants in the US and Canada.
Bank payments (ACH/EFT) always take 3–4 business days and are not currently eligible for Faster Deposits.
New merchants will see a slightly longer wait for their initial batches while we verify their account.

FAQ & Troubleshooting
Why do my first few deposits take longer to arrive?
Helcim reviews the first few batches for all merchants to establish a baseline understanding of your business's processing patterns. This process helps us ensure that your transactions are proceeding smoothly and that everything is set up correctly.
You may receive an email from trustandsafety@helcim.com for more information about your business. The more prepared you are to respond, the sooner we can get your processing up and running!
What does "batch settled" mean, and how does it affect my deposit timeline?
When you process transactions throughout the day, those transactions are typically grouped into a "batch." At a specific time, this batch is "settled," which means the transactions are finalized and ready for processing by the banks.
The deposit timeline begins after the batch has been settled. The exact time of batch settlement can vary, and it's a key factor in determining when your funds will be deposited into your account.

What are Faster Deposits?
Faster Deposits is an enhancement that speeds up your cash flow by depositing credit card funds into your account the next business day. It is enabled by default and completely free.
Do I need to apply for Faster Deposits?
No. This feature is automatically enabled for all eligible merchants. If your bank and batch size qualify, it just works.
Why isn't my bank receiving Faster Deposits?
There are a few reasons this might happen.
In Canada, your bank must support Interac e-Transfer.
While most major banks are supported, the rollout is happening in phases.
So if you aren’t seeing next day deposits yet, you may start seeing them within a few weeks.
In the US, your bank must be part of the RTP or FedNow networks.
Additionally, batches over $25,000 will be processed at standard speeds.
Which transactions are eligible for Faster Deposits?
Faster Deposits only apply to credit and debit card transactions, not ACH.
Other transaction types, including ACH payments, are not yet supported by Faster Deposits even if your bank is eligible. We're exploring ways to expand this feature in the future.
