To begin adding products to your Helcim account first review the Merchandising and Invoicing Settings for your account, specifically the Inventory Settings. These will impact how your product inventory is managed and can be useful to configure before you add your products, categories, and brands to your account.
Once your account settings are configured to match your needs, you can familiarize yourself with the product catalog by adding a product and adding images. If you would like to add multiple products at once, you can import product information into your account instead of relying on manual data entry.
Adding a Product
To create individual new product listings, click on the Product List tab under Products in you Helcim AccountIn the top right-hand corner click on Add New Product to get started.Selecting Add New Product will open a new screen where you can enter the New Product information.
You can go through each input field on this screen to enter the information specific to the new Product including:Name: Product name
Category: Select an existing category, or use the Categories tab to create a new selection
Brand: Select an existing Brand, or use the Brands tab to create a new Brand
SKU: Enter the products SKU number
Barcode: Enter the products Barcode number
Price ($): The regular selling price
Sale Price ($): Promotional sale price
Cost: Enter the cost for this product. This is the price your business pays for this product.
Deposit Fee: If your product or service has a deposit fee (for example, liquor, drinks, etc...) you can enter it here. This amount will always be exempt from taxes.
Available Online: On/Off
Available Retail: On/Off
Featured: On/Off (For featuring product in the online store landing page)
Multi-Currency Pricing: Will display the calculated currency price if other currencies have been set up for the account. If you want to add another currency to your account, you can do so by click on the Settings icon in the top right-hand corner of your account from any page and selecting Merchant Account Settings and Currencies.
Please note that multi-currency processing is only available for merchants who signed up for Helcim before June 1, 2020, who are using Helcim's Legacy System.
Enter a detailed product description into the text box.
Click Save to apply your changes.
Adding Multiple Products
If you need to add many products to the catalog, it's easiest to use the Import/Export feature to do this more quickly.
Adding Images to Products
As part of the Create Product or Edit Product listing procedure, Product Images can be added after a product listing has been created.
To add images to products, click on the Product List tab under the Products in your Helcim Account.
Select the product you wish to update with a new image.Select the Images tab from the Product menu on the right-hand side of your screen.Use the Image Upload function to upload your image by selecting Click to Upload and browsing for the image on your device.The uploaded file is now confirmed, and you can click on any of the other tabs or exit the pop-up by clicking the X in the top right of the pop-up page.
You can add Multiple Product Images to a product or select an image as a Products Primary Image. To add more images, simply click on Click to Upload and continue adding images until the product is complete.
If you have multiple images for a product listing, you can assign a Primary Image by clicking on the corresponding Star Icon for that product.
Editing an Existing Product
Select the Products and Products List button to view a list of your available products. Next, select the product you would like to edit. If you have a large product inventory, you can use the search feature at the top of the Products screen to find the item(s) you want to edit.
Click on the product you want to edit, this will open up the product's page, you can now revise any of the fields you originally entered when creating the product.
You can edit the basic options or click on Advanced Options in the menu on the left-hand side of your screen to see more.
Once you have finished editing and modifying the product information, click on Save at the top.
A confirmation message will appear at the top that the changes have been saved.
Add-Ons, Variants, and Attributes
Adding a Variant to a Product
You can use variants when you want to make a selection required before the customer can checkout. If you want to add optional selections, you can use Product Add-Ons.
You can begin adding variants after adding a product or while editing an existing product from your product catalog. To add a variant, start by clicking on Products, then Product List and selecting the product you want to edit.
Once you have selected the product you want to edit, click on Advanced Options from the menu on the left-hand side of your screen.Next, toggle the radio button for Variants to On.When this button is On, there you will see Variants under the Product menu on the left-hand side of your screen.Use the text box to type in the Option Name for your variant so it's easily recognizable, then enter the Option Value for the different choices. For example, the Option Name could be Size, and the Option Value could be Small, Medium, and Large.Once you've entered your information, click on Add to create the variant.If your product has multiple variants, you can continue adding the different options here.When you are done adding variants, click on Next.Clicking Next will move you to the Generated Variants page where you can enter additional details for your products using the text boxes. If one of the attributes doesn't apply to your product, you can skip over it.Weight, Length, Width, Height, Price, Sales Price, Wholesale Price, and Cost: All the information can be individual adjusted here using the text boxes.
SKU: A SKU will be automatically generated for each variant that is created. Here you can adjust the SKU if you wish to have a different SKU.
Barcode: Barcodes can be adjusted for each variant.
Image: If you'd like to add additional images for each variant, you can upload them now.
Once you are done editing the variants, click on Save to apply your changes, or Back if you need to make changes to your original product options.
Managing Product Add-Ons
You can create Add Ons to let customers edit and customize their orders. For example, Product Add-Ons can be used to specify side dishes when placing a food order online, or to add additional accessories or products to a retail order. Product Add-Ons are added at the category level in your Helcim account and can then be edited for each individual product assigned to that category.

Adding an Add-On to a Product
When you add a product to a category that has Product Add-Ons you will be able to edit each Add-On option for that specific product.

To edit Add-Ons for a specific product, click on Products, Product List, then select the product from your list. Next, select Add-Ons from the Product option menu on the left-hand side of your screen.On the Add-Ons screen, you will see all of the available Add-Ons for the category that has been assigned to that product.Price: You can edit the price for the add-on for this specific product.
Max Per Product: Add the number of times a customer can add this Add-On to the product when making a purchase.
Available: Toggle the radio button On to add this option to the product, leave the radio button Off if you do not want the Add-On to show for this specific product.
Attributes and Categories
Attributes must first be added to the category that the product belongs to. See the categories article for more information.
To edit and customize a product's attributes, click on Products and Product List to view your available products.
Next, select the product you want to edit by clicking on it to open the Product Overview page. From here, click on Attributes on the right-hand side of your screen.You can now edit the Product Attributes for this specific product.Use the text boxes to provide useful customer information, including descriptors such as fit, style, and material.
When you are done editing the attributes, click on Save to apply your changes.
Using advanced pricing lets you set wholesale pricing for products, create buy one get one free and related promotions, and enter ranged pricing for items.

Updating Product Availability
If you need to update multiple products availability at once, you can quickly change this from the Product List view in your Helcim account. To get started, begin by logging into your Helcim account and selecting Products and Product List from the left-hand side of the screen.
Next, select the products you want to edit the availability for by checking the box on the left-hand side column for the product list. Once you have selected all the products you want to edit, click on the Change Availability button in the top right-hand corner of your screen.
Once you click on Change Availability you can either select On to indicate the product is available or Off to remove it from your list of available products.
Next, confirm your selection.
Other Advanced Options
To access Advanced Options for Products, click on Products, then click on Product List, then select the product you want to edit. Selecting the product will open the Product Overview Page.
From here you can select Advanced Options from the menu on the left-hand side of your screen.
First, you can review the General Options for the product by selecting a Color Placeholder, if the product is tax-exempt, shipping exempt, or if any additional variants should be applied.
Use the Inventory Management options to ensure you're never surprised by an out-of-stock product again. Toggle the radio button to On to track the product inventory and enter the low-level inventory threshold that you're comfortable with.The Specifications fields allow you to provide useful sizing and weight details to your customers. Use the text boxes to enter the weight, width, length, and height of your products.If you are a Level 3 Data merchant, you can enter your Unit of Measure and Commodity Code for your products in the Level 3 Data section.
Level 3 Data
Level 3 Data is reserved for merchants who are accepting Corporate, Purchasing, and Government credit cards. Please contact Helcim if you would like to enable this feature.
Finally, make it easy for customers to find your products when completing an online search by adding in SEO data.
- URL - the end of the website link that customers will click on to view your product in your online store
- Description - A brief overview of how what the product is
- Tags - Related items and categories that apply to the productWhen you are done adding in the Advanced Options for your products, click on Save in the top right-hand corner to apply the changes.
